The City of Laconia's Conservation Commission was established in August of 1987 to promote and preserve the areas natural resources, and to protect and manage the City's watershed resources and wildlife habitat areas. This seven member volunteer Commission, appointed by the City Council, is responsible for public outreach and education as well as managing the City owned conservation lands. The Commission is responsible for the review of site plan and subdivision applications for compliance with state and local wetlands and shore land regulations. In addition, the Commission is responsible for recommendation conveyance to the City Planning Board for new projects moving through the City planning process.
