Planning Board Applications & Process

Engaging in the Planning Board process may be required for the construction, expansion, or opening of a new or existing business, development, or home.  These types of projects must meet the local zoning, site plan, and subdivision requirements, as may be applicable.

Your first step is to call the Planning Director or Assistant Planner at 603-527-1264.  We will talk with you through your project to determine which regulations might apply, direct you to the appropriate application(s) for your project, guide you through the Planning Board process, and advise you if there are any other boards and/or commissions you may need to contact.

We also encourage you to look through the City of Laconia Builder's Guide, a useful handbook for projects of all sizes.

The process is a two month process from presubmittal to Planning Board, however most applications are approved in a single Planning Board Meeting.
